January Movies

So these are the films I went to see this month, I’d have liked to have seen a couple more but life got in the way.

The Greatest Showman: It’s a musical, but don’t let that put you off, the songs are catchy, the male lead Hugh Jackman shakes off Wolverine and is brilliant in his all singing & dancing role and as for Zac Efron, he’s matured from his High School Musical days but can still throw some shapes whilst belting out a tune!

Hostiles: Not something that I would usually go and see at the cinema, but still a good film. Christian Bale played the lead as the army captain ordered to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief back to his ancestral lands, I thoroughly enjoyed this film and would watch it again.

The Darkest Hour: I’ve been waiting toes this film since seeing the trailer back in November and thought it was brilliant, Gary Oldman was totally unrecognisable, the make up artistry team deserve an Oscar for his transformation into Winston Churchill.

The Post: Another Oscar winning film in the making, a Spielberg film with both Tom Hanks & Meryl Streep in can’t be bad and this film based on the true events of the Pentagon Papers leak that then led on to the Watergate scandal was brilliant.
